Nigerian born diva Patti Boulaye has virtually singlehandedly dedicated the last 5 years to building clinics in Africa for children suffering from HIV/AIDS. This stems from a visit she made to Africa where she learned that babies born with the HIV virus were buried alive in order to kill the demons inside the children and therefore protect the families and community. |

After viewing With God Nothing is Impossible: The Marvin Andrews Story, Warrior Nation member Joann Charles decided to share it with the youth congregation of her church. Joann was so moved by the film that she felt that it could be used as a motivational and inspirational tool. The screening was held at the Morvant Open Bible Church on the Rock, Lady Young Road on Sunday, September 9th 2007. Here is her recap of the proceedings. |

Ian Porterfield, the former Trinidad and Tobago national team coach died on September 11th 2007. I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Porterfield back in 2000, before T&T qualified for the semi-final round group with Mexico, Canada and Panama.
I was fortunate because “Porters” agreed to an unscheduled interview even though it was between a morning and afternoon training session and despite the fact that I had no media credentials. I was literally a man off the street yet he was very accommodating and treated me with professional courtesy.
I believe that Ian Porterfield sometimes gets a bad rap from local fans, partly because he replaced Bertille St. Clair and partly because of the eventual failure in the Hex. I hope that this archived correspondence gives fans, young and old, an opportunity to get a better measure of the man.
May he Rest in Peace. |

Tuesday, 11 September 2007 |
Former coach of the Trinidad & Tobago football team, Ian Porterfield, has died at the age of 61 from colon cancer. Porterfield was at the helm of the Soca Warriors from March 2000-June 2001, and compiled the most impressive statistics of any coach of the T&T team before or since. During his reign, we also saw the debuts of future members of our World Cup 2006 squad, which included Brent Sancho, Dennis Lawrence, Aurtis Whitley, Jason Scotland, and Cyd Gray.
We extend our condolences to his Trinbagonian wife Glenda and the rest of his family and friends. R.I.P. Porters.

The event was held on Sunday Aug 26th at Sunnybrook Park in Toronto. It kicked off on time at about 12:30 PM, and the football tournament started at 1:30 PM. The people in attendance were kept entertained throughout the afternoon, and also got the chance to meet and greet Trinidad & Tobago and Toronto FC player, Collin Samuel. We also launched our first food drive to benefit underprivileged families in T&T. |
