Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean's most celebrated football player, Dwight Yorke, yesterday announced his retirement from the international game in a release to his British Championship Division employers, Sunderland Football Club.
Due to a lack of financial support towards this country’s National Football program, the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation has been forced to suspend all football related activities pertaining to National Teams with immediate effect until further notice.

Several members of the Trinidad & Tobago World Cup squad have decided they wish to form a professional players union in Trinidad. They have completed much of the preliminary work already, and expect Shaka Hislop to become the figurehead for the union next year.
